Used Engine Evaluation Standard (JGES)
JGES (Japan Good Engine Standard) is a quality evaluation system for used engines developed by Kaiho Industry. This standard promotes trading only used auto parts that meet specific quality criteria, helping to improve the overall quality of parts sales.
In 2024, JGES was updated to provide even more detailed traceability information. This includes videos showing the engine’s operation before dismantling, a unique scoring system based on various evaluation points, and pricing that reflects the engine’s condition.
Notably, the pricing system that adjusts prices based on the individual engine’s condition is the first of its kind in the industry and is expected to have a major impact on the used auto parts market going forward. -
International Recycling Education Center (IREC)
Kaiho Industry is committed to protecting the global environment through responsible vehicle disposal. To achieve this, skilled professionals with the right knowledge of automotive recycling are essential.
That’s why we established the International Recycling Education Center (IREC). We welcome trainees not only from Japan but also from overseas, teaching them proper automotive recycling methods.
At IREC, we focus not only on technical skills but also on sharing Japanese spirit, culture, and human resource development -
Kaiho Industry EC Site (ePartsWorld)
On August 31, 2022, we officially launched our e-commerce site, Kaiho Industry EC Site (ePartsWorld), designed for overseas customers to buy used cars, engines, and parts.
Through the site, customers can purchase in-stock items as well as recycled parts and used cars available within Japan, all online, and have containers shipped internationally.
Uniquely, we offer the world’s first “catalog order” system, which allows overseas customers to order parts that are not currently in stock. After receiving an order, we locate the requested parts within Japan and connect them to sales.

KME (Kaiho Middle East) Auction
We operate used auto parts auctions not only in Japan but also overseas. In the UAE’s Sharjah emirate, where there is an active used parts market, we established a subsidiary called KME and set up a local auction venue. Our auctions are based on the concept of being fair and open to everyone, attracting many customers.
In 2023, we also launched a KME auction site in Kenya. The used auto parts traded at these auctions are then re-exported to countries in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. These parts help repair broken vehicles and support people’s daily transportation needs in those regions. -
KEA(Kaiho East Africa) Auction
In 2024, we opened a used car parts auction in Kenya called Kaiho East Africa Limited. Every part has an RFID tag and videos showing how the engine works before it was taken apart.
Buyers can see the quality of parts before they buy, so they can trust what they are getting. The auction is in Nairobi, and parts will also be sent to nearby countries.
This auction helps improve the quality of used car parts in Africa and supports the local car repair industry. -
Establishment of Pilot Plant and Training Center
Kaiho Industry aims to export and build recycling plants overseas. To support this goal, we established a pilot plant and training center for automotive recycling within the National Industrial Technical School in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Currently, automotive recycling knowledge is not widespread in Brazil, and the industry faces a shortage of skilled workers. Most trainees come from technical schools, where they learn about automotive recycling processes and dismantling techniques. -
Automotive Recycling Plant Construction and
Business ExpansionWith new regulations in India, the number of end of life vehicles (ELVs) is expected to increase, making proper and eco-friendly disposal a growing challenge.
To meet this demand, we established the AKK factory in India, launching a local recycling business focused on environmentally responsible ELV processing.
Our system integrates advanced recycling equipment, efficient production methods, and expert management to provide a complete automotive recycling solution. This initiative also helps create jobs locally and supports the circular economy by reusing separated materials within India.
